This Privacy Policy describes the information North South Academy ("NorthSouth," "we," "us," or "our") collects about you, how we use and share that information, and the privacy choices we offer. This policy applies to information we collect when you register and use NorthSouth’s programs and when you access or use our products, services, and websites, including northsouth.org (collectively, the "Services"). As used in this Privacy Policy, the term "Site" includes: all websites and applications operated by NorthSouth that collect personal information from you and that link to this Privacy Policy.

    • Registration information: When you register for certain Services, you may provide us information about you, your children, or your students. You may be asked to provide basic registration information, such as name, email address, telephone number, birth dates, username and password, and information about past educational background and performance along with information about programs or schools attended.
    • Information from third parties: In order to fulfill requests through the Services, we may collect personal information from third parties, including collecting information about you from the schools you attend.
    • Content and information that you submit when using the Services: We may collect information to better understand your educational potential, interests, and personality. This will vary by user. This may include written, verbal, or online assessments; interviews; personal statements; video, audio or other media you provide; and other assessments and materials.
    • Credit card and other financial information:If you provide a donation to NorthSouth or purchase a product or service that we offer, we may collect and use a payment processor to process your credit card, debit card, or other financial information you provide.
    • Other information: We may collect any content that you submit when you contact us or if you interact or reply to any emails that we may send. This may include your name, email address, phone number, and any other information submitted.
    • Technical and navigational information: We use technologies to collect information about you when you visit the Site or otherwise interact with us online or via technologies. This may include setting cookies on your computer or mobile device. Cookies are small data files that are stored on your hard drive or in device memory by a website. Among other things, cookies support the integrity of our registration process and help evaluate and compile aggregated statistics about user activity. We may also collect information using web beacons. Web beacons are electronic images that may be used in our Services or emails. We may use web beacons to deliver cookies, count visits, and understand usage.

We cannot guarantee the security of our servers or databases, nor can we guarantee that information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet. Please use caution any time you provide information over the Internet.
  9. Children’s privacy
  10. We collect the personal information of children in order to provide our Services. If you no longer wish for your child to participate in our Services and request that your child’s data be deleted, absent requirements to retain such data, we will delete your child’s personal information. In order to verify the authenticity of your request, we may require you to provide verification of your identity.

  11. California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine The Light" law, permits users who are California residents to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, information about the personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not disclose any information to third parties for direct marketing purposes.

  14. Personal information collected from you, including via the Services, will be transferred to the United States where the Site is hosted. Such transfer may not provide a similar level of protection to that provided by countries in foreign jurisdictions. You hereby consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States as described in this Privacy Policy. Please do not use the Site, products, and Services if you do not agree to the transfer and processing of your personal information by NorthSouth in the United States or if it is illegal to do so in your home country.

  16. We may amend, alter, or otherwise change this Privacy Policy at our sole discretion. The revised policy will be effective immediately upon posting to the Site. Further use of our Services following the update of this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
